Our workshops offer an inclusive, fun and safe environment for your child to learn and enjoy ballet. They are designed to introduce children to the world of dance and to develop their physical, social and emotional skills.
Delivered by qualified professional dancers and teachers, our workshops are for children aged 3.5 to 7 and run for 3 hours. The day includes a number of different activities and games to encourage creativity and learning.
We have a break where drinks and snacks are provided, an arts and crafts section for your child to explore creativity and games designed to encourage your child to be social and make new friends.
Our instructors have a wealth of experience teaching children, and they will help your child get familiar with the basics of ballet and gain a lifelong appreciation of dance as well as grow in their confidence and self-esteem.
Our aim is to nurture the children’s natural talents and love for dance in a fun and safe environment for them to learn, grow, and develop their skills. We believe that learning should be fun and our workshops are an exciting way to teach your child how to dance!
At the end of the workshops parents will be invited to watch their kids perform on stage and see what they have learned during the day.

My son was very worried about doing the trial, but had the best time. Both the dancers and the teacher made him feel so welcome and un-selfconscious! Thank you.
You helped instill the love of dance in my child from before she could even walk and it’s a testament to you and everyone at Ballet North for providing such a wonderful space for us parents and our little ones who love to dance.
Just wanted to say how much my daughter is enjoying the class. Her teacher is wonderful and she loves seeing him. She is improving each week thanks to him
It was amazing to see how my child has progressed under your supervision and tuition, so very nice to see her holding her own and following all the routines. Thank you!
FAQs
Yes! The class is inclusive for children that have little or no previous dance experience, everyone is welcome.
Q: Are the workshops suitable for girls and boys?
Of course. We are always looking for more creative approaches to our teaching, and this includes staying away from gender stereotypes, commonly associated with dance and especially classical ballet. All dancers are encouraged to explore their creativity, regardless of their gender.
Q: What age groups are the workshops suitable for?
The starting age is 3 years 6 months, until 7 years old.
Q: My child is young and not used to being apart from me for long, what happens if they get upset?
Our team is highly experienced with young children, so we make sure that everyone feels safe and welcome right from the start. If your child is upset or not keen to participate, we will call you so you can decide what to do.
Q: Do you offer refunds if our plans change?
If your plans change and you are no longer able to join us, please let us know at least 5 working days in advance so we can issue a refund or a credit for you. After that, we can offer to credit the sessions (up to 3 working days in advance).
Q: What do we need to bring with us?
Just wear comfortable clothes and ballet shoes if you have them. Some children even wear costumes! We provide water, juice, and snacks at break times. Please do let us know if you have any food allergies.
