About Ballet North And Our Inclusive Ballet School In Islington

With classes across Islington and Hackney, we welcome children of all backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels, helping them build confidence, creativity, discipline, and self-expression through dance.
At Ballet North, we believe ballet should feel encouraging, imaginative, and accessible to every child. Since taking over the school in 2020, we have continued to grow a warm and creative dance community across Islington, Clapton, and Stoke Newington, offering ballet classes, creative holiday workshops, and performance opportunities for children from 18 months onwards. Children aged 4 and up also have the chance to take part in our annual theatre performances, helping them build confidence and celebrate their progress on stage.

Why We Chose To Continue The Ballet North Journey
We had already built strong relationships with the children and families attending the school, and we cared deeply about creating a space where young dancers could grow not only in technique, but also in confidence and self-expression.
What inspired us most was the opportunity to develop a more creative and inclusive approach to ballet education. We wanted children to enjoy movement, storytelling, imagination, and individuality alongside structured ballet training.
Rather than focusing purely on appearance or perfection, we focus on how dancing feels for each child. That mindset continues to shape everything we do today.
